Rhodes State College, a public institution of higher learning in Ohio, is chartered to provide degree-granting career education programs, non-credit workforce development, and business and industry consulting. Enrollment, currently at over 4,100 students, is expected to double over the next ten years. Rhodes State College hired OnStrategy to help them incorporate best practices, including an off-site strategic planning retreat, into an existing strategic planning process to achieve targeted outcomes and advance the College’s mission while involving input from a cross section of stakeholders.
Service: Strategy Development
The Solution: Rhodes State selected OnStrategy to assist the college in enhancing its current strategic plan in order to achieve its targeted outcomes and advance the College’s mission. A critical element of the process is stimulating meaningful input from stakeholders.
I sincerely appreciate the work you have done to move Washoe County forward. As this State grows we must be prepared to meet every challenge. With professionals like (OnStrategy) the job is made much easier.
~Sheriff Michael Haley, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office
Deliverables:
- A more effective and implementable strategic plan.
- Engagement of the organization in the planning and implementation effort.
- Connect the Strategic Plan to the budget.
- Quantitative performance measures and benchmarks for ongoing management.
- Establishment of a strategic management process that is continuous and not periodic.
Result:
The input gathered from faculty, staff, students and community formed during the intensive sessions provided the basis of the offsite planning retreats. We further facilitated each phase of the strategic planning process that built on the college’s 2006-2009 strategic plan, culminating in an implementable plan for the 2010-2012 period. The college has since re-hired OnStrategy to facilitate the strategy development for the next several years.
