Engaged stakeholders to create the permanent regulations for cannabis in Washoe County, Nevada: In partnership with the County Manager’s Office, Heyden gathered feedback from citizens, community organizations, other local governments, and experts in the field to provide the County Commissioners with information that influenced cannabis regulation in the county. He collaborated with Washoe County’s Communications Team to develop a cannabis education social media campaign to debunk common myths about marijuana and education as part of the county’s responsibility in regulating the legalized cannabis industry.
