30 Second Speech by Coca Cola CEO

Coca Cola’s Former CEO, Bryan Dyson, gives a great 30 second short and sweet speech!

Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air.  They are Work, Family, Health, friends and Spirit and you’re keeping all of these in the air.

You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball.  If you drop it, it will bounce back.  But the other four Balls – Family, Health, Friends and Spirit – are made of glass.  If you drop one of these they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered.  They will never be the same.  You must understand that and strive for it.

Work efficiently during office hours and leave on time.  Give the required time to your family, friends & have proper rest.

Value has a value only if it’s value is valued

True words and well said! I was one of the 7:00 to 7:00 working Mommies in this busy rat race of ours. If I look back now I gained nothing the rubber ball bounced back….however losing out precious times with my kids. I made a big change in my life working halfday now concentrating more on the glass balls in my life Family, Health, Friends & Spirit. It is so rewarding !

Thanks for your perspective Yolanda. It certainly seems like work/life balance has never been more challenging to achieve. We live in an era when everyone is so “plugged in” and work is perpetually accessible due to our digital devices. It’s worth it to remind ourselves of the wisdom of taking time to value what truly has value.

I certainly need to adjust and balance time for my friends and family but more specifically for my spirit and make work easy

Very well said. Need to put this into action before time runs out. Better now then to regret latter.
