Erica J. Olsen – COO/Co-Founder
Description of Experience: Erica is author of the 2012 Strategic Planning Kit for Dummies (the 2nd edition she has written for Wiley Publishing) and co-founder and COO of OnStrategy. Through OnStrategy’s online client base and onsite strategic planning facilitation work, Erica has developed and reviewed hundreds of strategic plans for public and private entities across the country and around the world. Her work focuses on facilitating and developing strategic plans for her clients through internal and external assessments, strategic planning facilitations, and implementation. She has developed the format and the user interface for the award-winning OnStrategyHQ online strategic management system.
An engaging and experienced facilitator, Erica is frequently asked to address businesses, associations and governmental entities on subjects related to strategic planning and management. A few of her current clients include Boy Scouts of America, Biomet, City of Sparks, Miller Heiman, OnProcess Technology, North Slope Borough School District, Det’on Cho Corporation, and the US Naval Brig.
Erica has expanded her training and speaking to include locations around the world. She has facilitated a week-long training with GASCO Energy in Abu Dhabi on strategic planning and she has become a regular trainer in in Singapore, Dubai, Bahrain, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta. Erica has been a lecturer at University of Nevada, Reno and University of Phoenix, Reno. Erica has been a department chair for business at the University of Phoenix and taught at the university level for over 5 years.

Howard W. Olsen, Ph.D., CPA – President/Co-Founder
Description of Experience: Howard is a founder of OnStrategy. He is an entrepreneur with more than 30 years of business experience. In addition, he was an assistant professor of marketing at the University of Nevada, Reno and continues teaching one class each semester. He has taught at the university level for 16 years. Howard has had 20 years of consulting experience working with clients in the areas of market research, strategic planning, marketing, and financial management. He holds a Ph.D. in marketing and international business, and is a CPA.
Since 1986 Howard Olsen has been actively involved in developing and teaching business planning processes. His dissertation and course work formed the basis for developing the current strategic planning process and online system at OnStrategyHQ.com. It is both market focused and employs the Balanced Scorecard. The strategic planning system was developed through subsequent years of consulting work and teaching MBA marketing strategy at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Given her education and background in public administration, Kim specializes in the public sector, working with government agencies, nonprofits and school districts. Kim also manages the Corporate Social Responsibility process at OnStrategy. Prior to joining OnStrategy, Cory worked in business management and sales in the construction industry for nearly a decade after leaving the IT world. Looking for another change, he earned his MBA and moved into business counseling where he assisted small and regional size businesses with business planning, marketing planning, feasibility studies, strategy, and market research. He has written plans for small leisure businesses, large public projects with regional and national market research data analysis, and scalable entrepreneurial endeavors where special attention is given to different business phases.
Drawing on his experience and background, Cory ensures OnStrategy’s clients develop and implement strategies that result in market-leading performance.
